The Huffman Vikings Girls’ Basketball Team made it to the AHSAA 6A Finals this year – fighting hard against a scrappy team from Hazel Green. The Vikings ended the season as runners up, and have already set their goal to return to the championship round next year.
Teams from Birmingham City Schools represented with a strong presence in the 2022-2023 Alabama High School Athletic Association playoffs and championship rounds. Wenonah, Ramsay, Parker, Huffman, and Jackson-Olin all had both the boys’ and girls’ teams to represent in the regional playoffs. Carver boys and Wenonah girls also made it to regionals.
Ramsay boys made it to the 5A state semi-finals to face Charles-Henderson.
