According to the The Educational Opportunity Project at Stanford University, while school districts nationwide lag behind pre-pandemic levels in student achievement scores, Birmingham City Schools has recovered from those losses.
Data from 2022-23 shows Birmingham City Schools improved 0.52 grade levels above the national average in math scores.
